Visit of children from Gaza at URI Soča

ITF is in cooperation with the University Rehabilitation Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (URI So?a) implementing the “Gaza project” that includes physical and mental rehabilitation of children/victims of conflict from Gaza and local/national capacity building in the field of rehabilitation.

Project is being implemented upon the initiative of the President of Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Danilo Türk and was launched in the end of January 2009. So far 61, children from Gaza were rehabilitated and 10 physiotherapists trained at URI So?a. Beside Slovenian government the project is also supported by the Amr Moussa (Arab League Secretary General), Capt. Mohammad Al-Khashman  (Jordan Aviation Group), Czech Republic, Korea, Qatar, Rotary Club Portoroz, Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and United States.
On 25 November 2010 ITF, URI So?a and the Office of the President of the Republic of Slovenia organized a special visit of children from Gaza at URI So?a for Ambassadors and other Representatives of Embassies appointed to Slovenia. After arrival they have been sincerely welcomed by MSc Robert Cugelj (URI So?a Director), Ms Mojca Seliškar Toš (Head of the President's of the Republic of Slovenia Office) and Mr Dorijan Marši? (ITF Director). Ambassadors and Representatives of the Embassies in Slovenia met with children and had an opportunity to talk with them and to see the benefits of the Project.
