U.S. Ambassador Thomas Robertson completed his journey along the E-6 European Walking Route in Strunjan as part of his “Walk Across Slovenia” to raise funds for the International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance (ITF) on Saturday, 07 July 2007. The Ambassador marked the completion of his journey and the fund-raiser in Strunjan, near Koper.  At the event, Ambassador Robertson was joined by dr. Dimitrij Rupel, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Goran Ga?nik, Director of the International Trust Fund for Demining, Danilo Sbrižaj, Secretary General of the Alpine Association of Slovenia and Mayor of Piran Tomaž Gantar.

The U.S. Department of State will match each dollar raised through the Ambassador’s walk and contribute to the ITF for its activities in the field of mine action.
