New donation of Federal Republic of Germany for Mine Clearance Operations in Albania in 2009

01.04.2009
On 01 April 2009, H.E. Mr. Hans Joachim Goetz, German Ambassador to Slovenia and  Mr. Goran Gacnik, ITF Director, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on which basis the Federal Republic of Germany entrusted yet another donation to the ITF.  This donation in the amount of EUR 339.958,55 will be used for continuation of Mine Clearance Programme in Albania. Germany, thus, supports the successful start up of 2009 activities, which should strategically result in Albania free of landmines and UXO by the end of 2009.

Germany has been donating through ITF to Albania since 2003 and this is already 7th donation. In total Germany donated already 1.975.378 EUR for ITF managed projects in Albania.
